Why Home Gym > Globo Gym

Home gyms are better than the globo gym and here is why....

Hey Barbellah,

Today, in 3 Minutes or Less

  • Why Home Gyms > Globo Gyms

  • Mindset of the Day

  • Daily WOD

In the organized chaos of a demanding career, maintaining a fulfilling personal life, and, perhaps, embracing the joys and challenges of parenthood, finding a spare moment to dedicate to a gym workout can often feel like attempting to squeeze water from a stone. However, amidst the chaos and time constraints, home workouts are where its at. For real tho, who wants to spend an extra 30-45 min just driving to the gym, then fight or wait for equipment, not to mention the gas and membership fee’s?

That’s why Barbellah exists….you see, I too was paying over $100 per month to go to a CrossFit gym (which I loved and loved my friends there). Then COVID happened and they told us all to go home, stay indoors and “social distance.” I need to move my body - working out is a stress reliever and I couldn’t imagine not being able workout. Cardio and body weight can only do so much. So the first thing I did on March 21, 2020 was order rig and barbells. Fast forward to April 2020 and The Bad Decisions Barbell Club was born. This was kinda like a speakeasy gym since everything in New Mexico was basically closed.

The home gym became an obsession and the crown jewel of our home. Buying the equipment was a little pricey, but benefits and the investment in our health is worth every penny.

Invest In A Home Gym Because….

The Convenience Factor

You can replace the time spent packing a gym bag, traveling to the gym, and waiting for equipment with a few extra minutes of sleep or a peaceful morning coffee. A home gym eliminates the commute, making it easier to fit exercise into a busy schedule. It's about turning a spare corner, room, or your garage into your personal fitness haven, available 24/7.

Time is Gold

The average gym-goer spends about 30 minutes commuting to and from the gym. That's at least 5 hours a month, or 60 hours a year, spent just on traveling. With home workouts, those hours transform into extra workouts, leisure time, or precious moments with your family.

Its A Smart Financial Move Long-term

The initial investment in quality home gym equipment might raise eyebrows, but let's break it down. The average gym membership can range from $40 to $100 per month. Over five years, that's a whopping $2,400 to $6,000! High-quality home gym equipment, while costly upfront, can last years without ongoing fees.

Real-Life Example

Take Sarah, a busy marketing executive and mother of two. She invested in a versatile home gym setup for $2,000. In three years, not only has she saved money compared to a gym membership, but she's also reclaimed over 180 hours - time she's spent helping with homework, preparing healthy meals, or even catching up on her own career development.

Your Health, Your Terms

Beyond the tangible benefits, there's a psychological edge to home workouts. In your private space, you're free from the self-consciousness or competitiveness that can sometimes permeate gym environments. It's just you, your goals, and your music playlist (on full blast, if that's your thing!).

By investing in these convenient and accessible exercise regimens, we have unlocked a world of possibilities that allow us to prioritize our health and well-being without sacrificing precious time or energy.

Daily Mindset

“Perseverance is not a long race; it's many short races one after another."

This quote encapsulates a fundamental truth in our journey towards fitness and beyond. Much like the intricate, delicate process of a sculptor chiseling away at a block of marble, each workout, each rep, and each moment of choosing to continue when your body yearns to stop, is a small stroke of the chisel. These moments may not reveal a grand transformation overnight, but over time, they cumulatively sculpt a masterpiece - a stronger, more resilient you. It’s in these small, seemingly insignificant decisions where real change happens. When facing today's workout, remember: it's not just about this session, it's about the ongoing journey of self-improvement. Each day, each workout is a building block in the magnificent structure of your fitness and personal growth. Embrace the process, cherish the small victories, and keep chiseling away.
